01/20/2005 Entry: "Boom"
*Tring* zei de telefoon, *Ploink* zei de mailmelder, *Help!* riep een collega, *Hallo, wat gaat u hier aan doen?* brulde de abonnee. Ik maaide met m'n armen in het rond, beantwoordde zo goed als het ging vragen, deed erg mijn best opgewekt te com-mu-ni-ceren en praatte ruzies uit. De aanvragen wapperden om m'n hoofd, er stonden drie koude koffies op m'n bureau en mijn collega en ik barstten in lachen uit. Een zeer succesvolle aktie, dat wel! Succes is geweldig, maar de wallen onder mijn ogen bieden plaats aan op z'n minst vijf hoeren en het suist een beetje in m'n hoofd.
"Hallo, mag ik je iets vragen?" vroeg een collega van de buurafdeling vriendelijk. Ik wilde net gaan roepen dat iedereen maar even moest wachten, maar het ging helemaal niet over werk. Ze had iets voor me en of ik mee wilde doen. Met een receptenboom. Wat is in hemelsnaam een receptenboom, zei ik knorrig. "Nou, eigenlijk is het een soort kettingbrief maar dan met recepten. Jij houdt toch van koken?" Het is een groot misverstand dat mensen die van lekker eten houden, ook gelijk uren in de keuken willen staan. Ik hou erg van koken maar alleen als ik tijd heb. Tijdens vakanties enzo. Maar ze stond er zo vriendelijk en vooral rustig dat ik zwichtte voor de blanco envelop met instructies. Nu zit ik hier met die instructies en een klein lijstje met mensen die iets toegestuurd willen hebben. Dit is een receptenboom. Er is geen geld mee gemoeid, alleen postzegels. Dit is gewoon leuk omdat je uiteindelijk 36 recepten van verschillende personen ontvangt.
Oh.
Dit is dus leuk.
Ik denk aan die vijfentwintig kookboeken in mijn boekenkast en bedenk me dat ik helemaal niet zit te wachten op nog 36 nieuwe kooksels. Maar ja, een vriendelijk gezicht in rokende puinhopen, daar kan ik niet tegenop. Wat zal ik eens sturen naar Persoon B? En vooral: hoe krijg ik zes mensen zo gek om hetzelfde te doen?
