03/09/2002 Entry: "STORM"
Zat ik vanochtend nog te verzuchten hoe fijn het is om de warme zon te voelen, vanavond beukt de wind en regen tegen het huis.
Storm en windstoten zijn alleen fijn als je ergens veilig binnen zit. Wij waren buiten in een auto.
Twaalf jaar geleden haalde ik in 1 keer mijn rijbewijs. Dit in opdracht van toenmalig vriendje die er genoeg van had mij overal heen te rijden. Nadat ik het roze papiertje binnen had, vertrok het vriendje naar een ander MET medenemen van de auto. Niks oefenen dus zonder instructeur met voetpedaal.
Ik heb wel wat gereden in auto's van vrienden, 1 keer zelfs helemaal naar Frankrijk, maar daarna hield het op. Ik deed alles op de fiets en in geval van 'ver', met de trein. Geen enkele noodzaak om zelf een auto aan te schaffen.
Nu ben ik dus professioneel Bijrijdster. En ik word met de maand banger.
Ik rij 'mee'. Dat wil zeggen dat ik net zo goed achter het stuur kan zitten want ik doe alles wat de bestuurder doet, alleen dan in mijn hoofd. Spiegels kijken, borden lezen, het stoplicht in de gaten houden, dodelijk vermoeiend allemaal. Voor mij dus niet lekker achterover genieten van wat er buiten is. Nee, ik ben net zo druk (en misschien nog wel drukker) bezig met het verkeer als de bestuurder des voertuigs. Waarschijnijk heeft het iets met controle te maken. Als ik het zelf niet in de hand heb, word ik zenuwachtig. Vreemd genoeg heb ik dat niet ten opzichte van de machinist van de trein, maar wel weer bij de piloot in het vliegtuig. Aan de 1 geef ik alle vertrouwen, de ander vertrouw ik voor geen ene centimeter. En dat terwijl ik weet dat er toch meer treinongelukken gebeuren dan rampen met vliegtuigen. Statistisch enzo.
Maar nu: de Auto. Er valt geen lol meer te bleven aan mij als Bijrijdster. Ik stress me helemaal voorbij, bemoei me overal mee en vind vooral dat Alles Te Hard Gaat. Als er via een bord gewaarschuwd wordt voor 'aquaplaning' dan voel ik gelijk de auto onder ons uit schieten. Ja, dit ook als het stralend weer is.
Wordt er vermeld: u nadert een gevaarlijke kruising, dan is dit De Gevaarlijkste Kruising Van Nederland! Help!
Mijn vader had altijd zo'n verstandig zinnetje ten aanzien van het verkeer:
Iedereen is gek, behalve jij. Handel daarnaar.
Het gevolg is dat ik nu denk dat er alleen maar randdebielen achter het stuur zitten en dat ik een parcours tussen ongeleide projectielen moet afleggen. NIEMAND weet de verkeersregels, behalve ik. Ik moet het doen want de rest doet het altijd verkeerd.
Tja, deze benadering is natuurlijk niet goed voor wat vertrouwen in de rijdende mensch. Het gevolg is dat ik doodsbang ben.
Bang in de vorm van: als we nu worden doodgereden dan hebben de kinderen geen ouders meer. Als we direkt worden doodgereden dan hebben de kinderen veel te kort geleefd. Als we direkt worden doodgereden dan wil ik niet dat er 1 overblijft, dan moeten we maar met z'n 4-en tegelijk.
Er zijn meer van dit soort morbide varianten maar die zal ik u besparen.
Maar ik bedoel maar: het gaat hier niet om een lullig angstje, ik sta letterlijk doodsangsten uit.
Nu zijn er volgens mijn relativerende omgeving 2 soorten oplossingen: Verdoven en Vermijden.
In geval van verdoven haal je een pil bij de dokter of drink je een glas teveel. Vermijden: je gaat gewoon niet meer in een auto zitten. Punt.
Vanavond werd mij een 3-de oplossing aan de hand gedaan.
Als de sodemieter naar zo'n Her-Intredende-Automobilisten-Cursus. ZELF weer achter het stuur, ZELF weer controle krijgen, ZELF weer voelen hoe een auto voelt, hoe groot hij is en dat hij 4 wielen heeft die je op de grond houden. Dat hij best zwaar is ook en niet zomaar van de weg waait. Dat niet iedereen in het verkeer gek is maar dat je gewoon op moet letten.
Het schijnt dat mijn verjaardagskado al rond is.

p.s nu snap ik ook pas dat jullie de hele A1 afcrossen opweg naar Holsloot. Ik heb dan ook nog nooit iemand gehoord die in Almelo geland is, terwijl ze onderweg waren naar dit mooie Z.O- hoekje. : )

no offence maar niets zo erg als meerijdende bijrijders!
ons huisgezin is vroeger menigmaal aan een verkeersdrama ontsnapt doordat mijn vader de tegenwoordigheid van geest bezit om over het meerijdt-gedrag van mijn moeder heen te blijven anticiperen! (net te hard op niets af 'HUUUUUUH' schrikken, zich met 4 ledematen tegelijk schrap zetten tegen het dashbord en meer van zulk soort eigenaardigheden)
...en omdat ik ook wel eens met madame odette heb rondgetoerd over polderwegen ('íeieieih, we reden over een muisje heen')(janee: die bomen langs deze weg geven lekker mee wanneer je onverhoeds moet uitwijken) én door de hoofdstad (linksrechtslinksneehierdaarhierin, en je vervolgens met een 'kan best' een éénrichtingsstraat tegen de draad in willen laten rijden)kan ik een her-intreedt-cursus van harte aanbevelen!
of anders een 'opfris-meerijdt-applicatie-cursus'!
